LIFE PARTY - March 31, 2013

Richard and I decided to celebrate 6 months post-cardiac arrest by hosting a CPR certification course in the morning. The festivities continued at Richard's home in the afternoon. We rented a large 20x30 tent, tables & chairs for 50, hired a dj, and catered mexican food! It was Easter Sunday so many people had prior family commitments but even so we had about 50 come and enjoy the good times.

We closely watched the weather the week leading up to the party because, of course, forecasters began to call for the worst storm of the season. I prayed for the storm clouds to be held back and when the day came my prayers were answered. The weather was a lovely temperature and there were scattered clouds (but no rain!). It could have been a little less windy but I decided the wind was acceptable as long as rain didn't accompany it.

I saw several people who visited while I was still asleep in the hospital so it was GREAT they could come out and party with me. The entire day was better than I could ever have imagined. I so appreciated seeing everyone and having fun laughing and talking. A day like that day is a lot of work to plan and the day itself is exhausting so I'm glad it's over but I loved every moment of it. The last of our guests left around 10:00 pm!! Yes, that's right, 10 pm!!
Enjoy these photos from that day...

Mary. I love her and couldn't have made it through the last 6 months without her!

Karen decided to tickle the ivory while Mike busted out some lyrics.
