The good news is that Katie had a slightly restless night. In other words she was more conscious and so more aware of herself. At times, Katie does not respond to voice. Much more often now, she opens her eyes. Much more often she exhibits other movements.
I think the periods of less and more alertness are probably due to normal sleep and wake patterns. Interestingly, the nurse has been opening the curtain "to establish her circadian rhythms."
Last night, The nurse said Katie moved and coughed more, and and appeared uncomfortable. To the question if she was in pain, Katie nodded her head. (Two doses of pain med and Katie seems better and resting.)
Her eyes are definitely tracking sound and voice. Focusing.
Last night, Pastor Randy Roberts came by for another an amointing service. That was very nice.
I am glad to hear of more progress. I will be continuing to pray for progress, specifically to be extubated and have stronger movement of extremities.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! She's in there. Still praying for Katie, Richard, and all of her family.
ReplyDeleteWe will not give up hope. The Lord is with her. Deb
