Katie was moved from the ICU to 8th floor where she is closely monitored but not intensive care. Her friend Mary came early and spent the day until I got there. The physical therapist came and walked her down the hall and had her sit in the chair again. Even the catheter is gone and she shuffled to the bathroom!
Her burns are the biggest concern right now because she can't have the pacemaker surgery with any infection in her body. We have requested wound care many times and I think enough Drs got on board today to make that happen.
Got most of the tangles out of her hair but nothing but a good washing will make her head feel better and get all the glue goo out. Hope she changes her mind about shaving her head!
She sent us home last night and is doing fine over night by herself, it's harder for us than her!
Now I need to get the kitchen clean and start thinking about when she will be home. Thank you God, she will be coming home!
They mentioned a defibrillating vest that she could wear home but Larry and I don't feel real good about that. We would like to feel sure she is all fixed first.
The septic people will be coming to make good on their guarantee to replace the lid that fell in! And her friend Joe has the kitchen sink working like a charm. Thank goodness Larry is able to work at the VA while he is here so we can stay as long as we need to.
She still gets pretty tired with too many visitors so need to try to keep it minimal for a little while still.
She sends love and thanks to everyone and so do we!
I'm loving all the good news. PTL!
