THE SIGN

I spent about 1.50 hours with Katie today and she was totally aware and alert!  Her vision was focused while tracking me as I moved about the room.   All this time, she was squeezing my hand, moving her feet and toes a few times, and even tried to make a fist. :-)   She really is trying to talk but the vent is not helping -which frustrates her immensely

I read all of the FB posts to her, (keep them coming by the way - she loves them....! :-)  and even asked her if she remembered the peope who wrote them?  She nodded yes. 

When I was about to leave her side, I kissed her forehead and told her how much she meant to me.  
As I got up to leave, I turned around one last  time to look into those beautiful blue eyes, only to find her raising her left hand in Sign Language saying....

  "I Love You...."
