Morning update

After rounds this morning there isn't a huge amount of news. The best thing is that they described her situation as progressing. They are going to add a mid line and remove her central line after that.

They are going to unclamp her chest tube to see if that will help with her breathing. They have not done a breath test today. Her fever is still all over the place. As low as 98 and as high as 102. They said the pneumonia treatments seem to be working but they are wondering if there are any infections from the central line or somewhere else because the fever should be less volatile than it is right now. She is still on all three antibiotics as her fever still peaks above 102.

Our biggest need still remains the need to increased lung function to be able to take the tubes out. We are unable to test things like the speech centers etc with the tubes in.

I read her a lot of the birthday messages this morning and will read her more throughout the day. She clearly enjoyed them so if you haven't sent a message yet end it over!

  2. I am friends with Donna and Tom Sharpe. Tom works with Katie's boyfriend Richard. Donna shared with me what happened to Katie. I've been praying for her healing. I've also posted on my Facebook asking my other prayer warriors to pray for Katie's recovery. I wanted to post and wish Katie a Happy Birthday! Please know that many people are praying for you Katie. Some people you don't even know, but we are banding together in the name of God for your healing. Blessings to you and your family.
