Her respiratory tests declined from yesterday so they had to up her drip to alleviate her breathing. The same opiate that helps with breathing is a pain reliever so she seems to be comfortable. She has been very aware and flexing her hand since I arrived.
Tracy asked me if anybody is communicating to get what is happening with her status. I told her this morning that we are needing better lung capacity to remove the tubes. I asked if anybody had explained that and she shook her head. Perhaps we have told her but she is pretty alert currently and responding to information and questions readily.
Fever spiked again this morning but with pneumonia still present this isn't a huge shock. Her eyes are looking more clear and focused.
