Katie has no fever and her sedatives are being reduced. Fentanyl dosing is unchanged. Her Versed dose is being reduced. The nurse said that she hasn't woken up though despite the decrease in dose. That surprised me, first of all because I thought they weren't going to reduce sedation until the next shift. Secondly, I didn't anticipate that the dose would have been reduced enough in a few hours to bring her to possible wakefulness. The nurse said we are entering a very unpredictable period where nothing would surprise him. Some patients wake up despite still moderate sedation, and and some don't wake up till later. The nurse said that it is often helpful when family is around, and they frequently call family to calm.
The oxygen is decreased.
I am at work today and will be checking Katie's status every so often. Praying all day. Katie, do what you do best...be feisty!! :) Love love love to you all,
