Everything continues to progress. However, a bit of a disappointment as the reps for Katie's special bed came by and informed staff they could not suddenly move her and there is a necessary weaning process from the bed itself. The nurses indicated she would not be out of the bed today. If I understood them correctly she will be in the supine (on back) position for good now - a sign of progress. However, I had hoped we would be able to start getting some hard news today. I don't see how that's possible till tomorrow. (Very disappointing though we still hope and expect positive news when this finally moves forward).
I have asked for clarification on how long the bed weaning process typically takes and the nurses admitted they did not know as the bed was not typically at Loma Linda and was brought in from elsewhere. They stated they would work to get me in touch with the rep for the bed maker if that rep was still in the building.
