Blog Overview & Update from 10-2-2012

I opened this blog to provide a central place to view updates on Katie while she's at the hospital. I also added a subscribe link at the top that should allow you to receive e-mail copies of all posts if you want. I've pasted an e-mail this morning from Larry, Katie's Dad.

this message is being sent to just family, but not for bad reasons.  vickie is face booking and I assume that she will be forwarding there what I say here.  the other reason is that I haven't set up a blog and haven't set up comm at all.

anyway, this needs to redistributed.

katie did fine last night. they are still draining fluid from her lungs.  they anticipate the fluid slowing and then stopping in the near future.

her electrolytes are fine. oxygen levels are great. the only negative in the report was that urine output was down slightly.  they are a long way from thinking she is developing kidney problems.

they are continuing to increase her body temperature and should be returned to normal body temp today

she is still fully sedated and will remain so until they put her in a regular bed.  if she woke up now there is no doubt that she would freak.

good progress last night.  but I am pretty sure that little more is known neurologically.
