Luke's friend who is medically trained stopped by tonight and was able to get us some answers to some questions. She is running a mild fever (normal) but is otherwise decidedly better. Many of her numbers are improved to the point that I could imagine her being moved to a normal bed within the next 18-24 hours. Katie apparently opened her eyes once today but was promptly sedated more heavily because this bed locks her in hard and would be quite terrifying.
We are working to get a further description of what actually occurred when Katie collapsed but she was closely followed by a Doctor who teaches CPR and was right there when she collapsed. He applied compression for 15 minutes and they shocked her at least once outside in the parking lot before eventually getting her heart back inside. She has some significant burns on her arms because the asphalt was very hot. These have been dressed and attended to well I think.
We're hopeful that we can get some clarity tomorrow but are bracing for another day+ before we know anything clear.
Dear Vickie and Larry, We are lifting Katie up in prayer here in Prescott, AZ. Prayers for strength and courage for your family and for healing for your dear Katie. As angels are surrounding her bedside, we know Jesus is holding Katie in His loving arms. Love and Prayers, Lari & Genia Long
