Well this never moves fast enough for us, but the medical team appears satisfied with Katie's overall progress. They may or may not be able to get her out of that horrible rotating bed tomorrow. The bed helps get her lungs free of fluid and improve blood oxygenation. When those numbers are good they can get her back in a normal bed and wean sedation. She is now at normal body temperature and no longer on paralytics.
Echocardiogram suggested her pumping capacity is at 30% with 55-70% being normal. Some of that capacity may improve over time but we won't know till down the road.
We have heard a few positive opinions from Doctors we visit with that aren't connected with the case. However, very little information is coming from the attending doctors and we have only had one conversation with a resident in spite of requests for more. So long as they help her improve we can accept poor communication I guess.
That's all for now.
Thanks for keeping us posted.
